I missed a call, can you tell me who called me?

Unfortunately, Burner is not able to look up or identify who called you, but here are a few ways to find the information yourself within the app.

Check Your Inbox Thread

All activity — calls, texts, and voicemails — appears in your inbox in the order it was received, so a missed call will show up at the top of the relevant contact's thread. If there is a new or unread activity, you'll notice a small dot indicator on the thread, signaling something was missed or hasn't been viewed yet. Simply tap the thread to see the details of the missed call.

Don't See a Missed Call? It Was Likely Spam

If you don't see any missed calls in your inbox, the call was most likely spam and was automatically filtered out by our Nomorobo integration before it could reach you. Nomorobo is a robocall-blocking service that Burner uses to protect you from unwanted calls — you can learn more about how it works here.

Why Did I See a Call Flash for a Split Second?

Occasionally, a spam call may slip through the Nomorobo filter and appear briefly on your screen before being blocked. This can feel like a real call, but because it was identified as spam, it won't be logged in your inbox. If a call appears and then disappears without leaving a trace in your inbox thread, this is the most likely explanation.

Quick Summary of what to look for:

  • Dot indicator on a thread → Missed call or new activity from a known contact
  • No record in inbox → Call was filtered as spam by Nomorobo
  • Call flashed briefly and disappeared → Spam call that slipped through momentarily before being blocked
