Can I make a private or blocked call from Burner?
What this means:
Some customers ask whether they can place a call that hides their number from the recipient — the way a carrier lets you dial *67 to block your caller ID. This isn't something Burner supports, and it isn't something you'd need to do anyway.
Why Burner doesn't offer this:
Burner is already a second number. When you make a call, the recipient sees your Burner number — not your personal phone number. Your personal number stays private by default, every time you call.
Adding a layer on top of that to block the Burner number as well falls outside of what Burner is designed for. It also runs counter to our Terms of Service, which prohibit using Burner to harass, deceive, or obscure your identity in harmful ways.
What to expect when you call
- The recipient will see your Burner number as the caller ID.
- Your personal phone number is not visible to the recipient.
- There is no option in the app to suppress or block outbound caller ID.
