How Does Burner Appear on Phone Bill
How Burner activity appears on your phone bill depends on how calls are handled.
Text Messages (SMS)
Text messages sent through Burner do not use your carrier’s SMS plan and will not appear on your phone bill.
Calls (Standard Calling)
When using standard calling, Burner routes calls through your cell number. Because of this:
- Calls may use minutes from your carrier plan
- Calls will appear on your phone bill as calls to or from your Burner number
- The number of the person you’re actually speaking with will not appear on your bill
Example
If your Burner number is (333) 333-3333:
- An incoming call from another person will appear as a call from your Burner number
- An outgoing call will appear as a call to your Burner number
In-App Calling (VoIP)
If you enable In-App Calling (VoIP):
- Calls are handled through the app using data or Wi-Fi
- Calls will not appear on your phone bill
Sign in with Apple or Google
If you signed in using Apple or Google, calls and texts are handled entirely within the app and will not appear on your carrier bill.
