App asking me to purchase new Burner number

If the Burner app is prompting you to purchase a new number and you already have one, it’s usually because you’re logged into a different account than the one your existing Burner is tied to.


Why This Happens

Burner accounts are linked to your login method, not just your device. If you sign in using a different method, the app may not recognize your existing numbers.

For example, you may have originally signed up using:

  • Your cell phone number
  • Sign in with Apple
  • Sign in with Google

If you log in using a different method, it can create a new, empty account - making it look like you need to purchase a new number.


How to Fix It

  1. Log out of the app
  2. Delete and reinstall the app to refresh it
  3. Open Burner and sign back in using your original login method

Important: Do not create a new account or purchase a new number during this process.


What to Check

  • Try logging in with your cell phone number
  • Try Sign in with Apple
  • Try Sign in with Google
  • Make sure you’re using the same method you originally used
