Mapping Directions While Calling using DualSIM

If you’re using Burner’s Dual SIM feature and notice that your navigation apps (like Google Maps or Apple Maps) don’t re-route while you’re on a call, here’s why.

Our Dual SIM currently supports calling and texting only — it does not support mobile data.

This means if you’re on a call using your Burner SIM and trying to use navigation or another data-based app at the same time, those apps won’t be able to connect to the internet. For example, if you’re driving and your route changes, your maps app won’t get updated directions until the call ends or your primary SIM’s data connection is active.

How to avoid this issue:

  • Make sure your phone’s main SIM (the one with mobile data) stays active for internet use.
  • If possible, connect to Wi‑Fi for data-based apps while calling through your Burner number.
  • End the call before refreshing or re‑routing your map if it’s stuck.

We’re working to expand our Dual SIM capabilities in the future, but for now, it’s best to think of Burner’s Dual SIM as for calls and texts only — not data.
