Shows my main cell phone number is linked to another account?

If you are an SSO user (Sign in with Apple/Google) your account works over your WiFi connection and does not link or forward to your main cell phone number. However, if you're trying to link your main cell phone number to your account in your settings, but getting an error that says something like "phone number linked to another account" here's what it could mean:


  1. You may have previously signed up for Burner in the past under your main cell phone number, then created a new account under Apple/Google.
  2. You recently obtained your main cell phone number from your carrier and somebody else may have owned the number. In this case, they may have also signed up previously.
  3. You have multiple accounts and need to merge them together.

In any case, all we have to do is delete the main cell phone number account (or merge them) and then you can add your main cell phone number to your account to make Standard Calls. Simply send us a message at support@burnerapp.com along with your main cell phone number and your Sign in with Google/Apple email and we will take care of the rest.
