The Difference Between Burner Number & Verified Number

Your Standard Burner is your primary number, used for calls, texts, and MMS. These numbers work on most websites, but they're considered online numbers, and some third-party sites don't accept online numbers for sign-up verification. A Verified Number is similar to a mobile number — think of your main cell phone number — and is accepted by more websites for account creation.

Both number types work the same for unlimited calls, texts, and MMS. You likely don't need both unless you plan to sign up for a third-party site that doesn't accept your Standard Burner. You can cancel either one while keeping the other.

Important Notes: 

  1. The term "Verified" only means that it acts more like a mobile number, and is more widely accepted on some websites. There are no other features to the term Verified.
  2. The Verified Number subscription is a completely separate subscription from your Standard subscription. Meaning, you pay for 2 subscriptions.
